Using VShell®, and SecureCRT® remote users can logon to the company network directly or through any ISP, send and receive email, download new data and orders to the company database, and view files in their network user folder. All with less worry about passwords being compromised and sensitive data being intercepted on public networks. In addition to secure shell access, SecureCRT supports Telnet and serial connections, too, so you can use Telnet behind the firewall, with Secure Shell to protect traffic on public networks.
With VShell, administrators can enable selective port-forwarding ports for individual hosts or IP addresses and on a user-by-user basis, administrators can allow or deny port-forwarding abilities as needed. Port forwarding to email (POP3, IMAP, or SMTP), Usenet (NNTP), web access (HTTP), and any other TCP/IP application can be turned on or off as needed depending on whether the user is on the office LAN or working from a remote location.
Remote shell access can be configured to provide ODBC-compliant database connectivity for remote users to interact with the company's network database resources through a secure shell.
Port forwarding filters allow discrete control over which TCP/IP applications users can access
